The Centro Ecològico Akumal has a great Turtle Program!
During the season (May - October) they have nightly walks
on the beach to look for nesting females. Their turtle team
tags, meassures, counts eggs, and marks the nest.
This team is comprised of volunteeres from all over the world
who have been trained by their turtle biologist. However,
people are welcome to join them on their nightly walks. They
have a limit of 10 per night and you may make your resrvations
when you arrive in Akumal. The ask for a small donation per
person.
